Historical artifacts stolen from Sugar Pine Railroad, deputies say

FISH CAMP, Calif. (FOX26 News) -- The Madera County Sheriff's Office is now asking for help in locating two artifacts that were stolen from the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad earlier this week.

According to deputies here's what was stolen:

  • One antique circa 1900s locomotive draw bar was stolen from outside the museum. Note: this item is extremely heavy.
  • One antique locomotive ID badge was stolen from inside the museum. The badge is brass and displays "3306 LIMA LOCOMOTIVE WORKS INCORPORATED FEBRUARY 1927" on the front. Note: the badge was actually on a train that once ran on site and is a important Madera County history artifact.
