A few Fresno police officers went above and beyond the call of duty to help a girl.

Police say Corporal Feller and his trainee, Officer Fregoso, responded to a house burglary on Dec. 26. During the burlgary, one of the items stolen from the house was a pink backpack that was purchased for the girl for Christmas.

The mother told police that she had saved up enough money to buy her daughter a backpack because she really wanted it for Christmas.

After the officers took the report, Corporal Feller sent a message to all Fresno Police Central District personnel to see if anyone would donate money to buy the girl another backpack.
