Fresno County Jail lobby remodel starts Monday
FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) —
Starting Monday, visitors to the Fresno County Jail in downtown Fresno will noticed something new.
That's when a major lobby remodel project is due to begin.
Sheriff's Office officials say the purpose of the remodel is to improve officer safety and make the lobby more accessible to people with disabilities.
The project is expected to be completed in April or May.
In the meantime, starting Monday, January 8th, there will be no waiting room in the main lobby; visitors will have to wait outside.
There will also be no touchpay cash machines, no public restrooms and no storage lockers, but visiting hours will not change.
