Orange Cove Police confirmed for us that a crash between a car & a service truck has turned deadly.
That crash happened before 5:00 p.m. Monday night.
We're told the woman, believed to be in her 20's or early 30's, driving the smaller car blew a stop sign heading east, slamming into the side of the truck heading north.
She died at the scene of the crash.
There was a young boy in the back of her car in a car seat, believed between 4 and 7-years-old. Orange Cove Police tell us he was badly hurt and had to be air-lifted to an area hospital.
The name of both the woman and the young boy aren't known at this time. The driver of the service truck wasn't hurt badly, and went to an area hospital for minor injuries, according to police.
We're told that at this point, drugs or alcohol don't appear to be a factor in the crash.
We'll update this as soon as we get more information from police or the California Highway Patrol.
