California attorney says 'do not adopt a pit bull' in controversial ad
CALIFORNIA (FOX26 NEWS) —
It's a controversial ad making its rounds on social media.
Kenneth Phillips, a Southern California attorney, posted a video on his Facebook page last week urging people not to adopt pit bulls.
Phillips calls the video a "Super Bowl Commercial" and encourages people to share the post to show pit bulls are too dangerous to adopt.
In the video, statistics are flashed on the screen stating that pit bulls have killed 75 percent of the people who were mauled to death in 2017.
According to Phillips, he only represents dog bite victims and hates pit bulls. The attorney has posted facts on his site stating that in a 13-year period from 2005 to 2017, the breed has killed 283 Americans.
The ad has received a lot of backlash on social media, some have even started a petition to stop Phillips ad from running on TV.
