Alan Autry's latest movie project premieres February in Fresno

Former Fresno Mayor Alan Autry has spent more than three years working on his latest movie project. "Victory by Submission" started out as an episode in a television series that later evolved into a faith based feature film.

Autry stars in and also directs his latest project. It's the story of a MMA fighter who wants to be a champion but first he has to deal with his own personal demons. "It's a faith based film and I felt a calling several years ago along with the Hollywood stuff to faith based material. It's my calling to be involved in that."

The project started in 2013. Fox 26 News caught up with Autry Entertainment back in 2013 when the movie project was first called "Raw Power."

Autry says he's had five private screenings for focus groups and the response has been positive. He believes the movie can make money. "I hope we can do well enough to make some more. We've got investors involved in this that understand the big picture. They understand what I'm trying to do with this to make faith and family films that are both enlightening and entertaining.

A number of local actors carry the film but Hollywood heavyweight Lee Majors also has a starring role. "He agreed to do it. He liked the script. I told him what money we had on hand. He said that's not an issue, I'm going to come to Fresno and shoot it."

"Victory by Submission" will premiere Friday February 3rd at Peoples Church in Northeast Fresno. Seating begins at 6:00 in the evening and the movie begins at 7:00. If you would like to buy tickets in advance go to Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Autry is currently in negotiations with a distribution company to release the movie in theaters.
