2 men convicted in rape-for-hire case
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Two men have been convicted for a 2016 rape-for-hire case.
Both men face 50 years to life in prison when they’re sentenced in the coming weeks, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Russell Higgins hired Haliki Green Jr. to rape a woman. Eyewitness News has made the editorial decision to withhold any additional information that could be used to identify the victim.
The men waited for the victim to get home from work, attacked her and bound her. Green then raped the woman, under Higgins’ direction.
The men were convicted on multiple charges during separate trials. Higgins was convicted last month, and Green was found guilty by a jury Friday.
