St. Helen's School hosts walk-a-thon to save school

Last Friday, parents and teachers at St. Helen's school in southeast Fresno were notified that the catholic school will be closing at the end of the year. The letter said the school is in debt to the Diocese and is not making enough money to pay the teachers.

Since then teachers, parents, and students have been working nonstop to raise the $1.1 million needed by the end of this year to keep the school open.

On Thursday, their annual fundraiser walk-a-thon means so much more to the school family who is trying to make sure it isn't their last.
