Savor The Season '16 in Visalia
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) —
What would you do if someone walked up to you in a grocery store and paid for your groceries?
That's what FOX26 News and Save Mart Supermarkets are doing again this holiday season.
For the second year, we're back with our "Savor The Season" project!
In this segment, FOX26 Ten O'clock News Anchor Gia Vang got to surprise one lucky shopper named Cindy, at the Save Mart at Ben Maddox Way and East Noble Ave. in Visalia.
Gia told Cindy FOX26 and Save Mart Supermarkets were going to pay her grocery bill.
Cindy gave Gia a big hug and wished her a Merry Christmas.
She said she felt bad because she knew her total would be around $250 and said, "I think you guys are incredible. I should have not bought so much."
Gia introduced Cindy to Save Mart manager, Mike, who told her he appreciates her business and wished her a Merry Christmas. "I will now," said Cindy, and then she hugged Mike, too.
We want you to know everyone who gets free groceries is picked at random and has no connection to FOX26 or Save Mart.
We also do not pay for alcohol, tobacco or prescription drugs.
If you liked this segment, please know we have more to come between now and Christmas Day, from Save Mart locations all over the Central Valley.
