Woman Gives Birth To Baby In Car; Fresno Cops Help
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
We're finally getting a look at the baby girl Fresno police officers helped deliver on Friday.
Two cops came to the rescue of the mom who was late getting to the hospital.
Jennifer Smith says she was stunned when her water broke right in her car near Peach and Tulare.
She wondered what would happen next but then realized what was to come.
"And then I had another contraction and said 'Rachel, we can't leave. You need to call 911 right now. We need to make sure we have help because I think this is happening right now.' So, that was probably the moment where I was like okay I guess I need to just stick it, and we're going to do this and it's going to be in a car. I can't believe this is happening. I'm one of those girls. I'm having my baby in my car," Jennifer Smith told KMPH News on Saturday.
Thankfully, everything went just fine.
The little girl weighed-in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 22 inches.
