Weapons And Drugs Found 1,000 Feet From Playground

A Merced man is in jail after deputies found weapons and drugs in his home, 1,000 feet from a children's playground.40-year-old Javier Ramirez was arrested Wednesday night after a month long investigation.The Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team found eight pounds of methamphetamine, a loaded gun and a large indoor marijuana growing operation with over 300 plants at his home in Merced.The indoor plants covered three quarters of the man's house.Agents also found that Ramirez bypassed the PG&E meter to steal electricity for his growing operation.Officers believe Ramirez was bringing the drugs in Chowchilla.Ramirez was booked for possession of meth and marijuana, possession of a firearm and power theft.Agents will seek another drug felony charge of having drugs within 1,000 feet of a school or park.
