Veterans Honored At Caruthers Ceremony
CARUTHERS, Calif. (KMPH) —
More than just names on a wall, they're heroes who sacrificed their lives to grant us the freedoms we enjoy today.
Several hundred people came out to Caruthers Monday to honor the veterans at the wall ceremony.
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims was there, as well as an 11-year-old boy who shared what he thinks is special about celebrating Veterans Day.
"It makes me very proud because my cousin serves in the Army right now. I'm very happy that we have freedom here in America because most countries don't," Philip Lopez said.
Building the veterans wall was a work in progress for the town of Caruthers for nearly five years.
