Valley Drought 2014: New Water Restrictions August 1st In Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
If you live in Fresno, you need to make some changes to how often you water your lawn as of Friday, August 1st.
City officials have elevated the city's water shortage contingency plan to a stage two level.
That means people in Fresno will only be allowed to water lawns twice a week during the summer, and once a week during the winter.
The same rules apply to government, schools, and businesses and water cops will track you down if you're wasting water.
You're also encouraged to let City Hall know if someone's wasting water, especially at city owned properties.
City officials say water wasters will first be given a warning before facing fines of up to $45 a day.
Your water could be shut off by the fifth citation.
