Valley Drought 2014: Feinstein-Boxer Legislation Introduced

U.S. Senators Feinstein and Boxer of California have released their version of drought relief legislation.The legislation focuses on giving more flexibility to state and federal agencies to move water around, without lifting the endangered species act or overriding other state and federal laws, as the House bill does.That legislation, authored by Central Valley Republicans David Valadao, Kevin McCarthy and Devin Nunes, passed through the House.The GOP bill also received the backing of Fresno Democrat Representative Jim Costa.The Feinstein-Boxer bill also would dedicate $300 million in federal emergency aid for drought relief projects and economic assistance.
