Valley Drought 2014: Drought is Extreme for Most of CA

It's a first in the 15 year history of the US Drought Monitor. The entire state of California is now experiencing moderate to exceptional drought conditions. A new map from the Monitor shows that 77% of the state is experiencing extreme to exceptional drought conditions. Those are the two most severe categories. That 77% up nearly 10% percent compared to a week ago. According to the new map, the central valley and central coast are getting the worst of it. State water officials say, now that the valley's wet season is over, and it wasn't that wet, things are only going to get worse. Let this be your reminder to conserve water.
