Valley Crash Kills Teen, Hurts Others

CORCORAN, Calif. (AP) - One Central Valley teen is dead and three others suffered major injuries when the car they were riding in went off a roadway.

The crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday just outside the city of Corcoran in Kings County.

Authorities say the 2001 Kia Spectra rolled over several times and came to rest upside down on railroad tracks after the 17-year-old driver drifted off the roadway.

Another 17-year-old was killed and a 16-year-old girl and two 17-year-old girls suffered major injuries.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver and a 15-year-old boy suffered less serious injuries.

The teens were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
