Two Stabbed By Bicyclist In Bizarre Incident

Fresno Police arrested a bicyclist Thursday afternoon in the stabbing of two people that tried to stop him from attacking a 62-year-old man.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. near Home and Blackstone avenues.

Police say the bicyclist approached a person whose car broke down on the side of the road. A second motorist pulled up to offer assistance as well. That's when the bicyclist insisted that the second motorist struck him with his car, police said.{} The bicyclist demanded to see the 62-year-old man's drivers license.

When the 62-year-old man said that he did not hit the bicyclist with the car, the bicyclist head butted him to the ground and then kicked him repeatedly, witnesses told police.

Several people who witnessed the incident ran to the aid of the man. The bicyclist then pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the men and rode off, police said. A second man caught up to the bicyclist but was stabbed as well.

The man was eventually caught by police as he rode south down Calaveras Street.
