Two Earthquakes Strike Huron One Minute Apart


Two earthquakes hit the Huron area Friday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the{}magnitude-4.0 and 4.1 quakes{}struck about six miles southeast of Huron.

The first earthquake hit at 6:22 a.m., and the second one was reported one minute later.

KMPH viewers in Coalinga, Lemoore and Tulare said they felt the shaking.

About six hours earlier, at 12:03 a.m., a magnitude-3.5 quake struck in Beverly Hills.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages in any of the earthquakes.

Seismologists say Friday's earthquakes are not on the San Andreas Fault and weren't triggered by Wednesday's magnitude-7.6 quake in Costa Rica.
