Two Arrested In Connection To Beating Farmworker; Two More Sought
MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
Two men have been arrested in connection to the brutal beating of a Madera County farmworker in June.
Cristobal Rubio, 18, and Oscar Tista, 19, both of Madera, face assault, battery and criminal street gang activity charges for attacking a 31-year old farmworker who was sitting on the front porch of a home located between CA-145 and Old Raymond Road just east of Tozer Street, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies say the man was repeatedly beaten and then robbed. He was then rushed to a local hospital with severe head trauma. The man continues to recover from his injuries, the sheriff's office said.
Rubio was arrested in July and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.
Tista was arrested by U.S. Marshall's in Calackamas County, Oregon on July 9. He was then transported to Madera County and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections Wednesday night.
Detectives say they are looking for two other people involved in the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call the Madera County Sheriff's Office at 559-675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 498-STOP.
