Tulare Thief Steals Car, Ditches Baby In Corcoran
TULARE, Calif. (KMPH) —
A 4-week-old boy from Tulare has been reunited with his parents after a dramatic morning.
The boy was in the back seat of a 2009 Dodge Charger that was left running around 4:30 a.m. in the area of O Street and Ventura Avenue, when a man jumped in.
The man drove away on O Street while the boy's parents called for help.
Tulare officers had been ready to issue an Amber Alert, when they received a call from their officers in Corcoran.
Just after 6:00 a.m., they found the stolen car, abandoned along Dairy Avenue in the northwest part of town.
The child was in the back seat, unharmed.
He was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation, and was released to his parents.
The thief remains on the run, and could face charges of kidnapping and car theft.
