Albert Mitchell, 22, was arrested Thursday after police say they spotted the vehicle thought to be involved in the home invasion. When they tried to pull that car over, Mitchell got out and ran away.

Police say they caught up with him at a home on north Fresno Street, where he tried to get rid of a gun used in the home invasion.

Police say the other suspects, Alpha Muhammad and Bryan McCoy, both 22, are still on the loose.

Police are looking for three men they say stole thousands of dollars from a West-Central Fresno home.

It happened just after 4 p.m. near Princeton and Blythe.

The woman living in the house says she was home with several guests when three men came knocking on her door.

She says she recognized them, and let them in.

Police say suddenly the men pulled out a gun, ordered everyone to the ground and demanded money.

The woman says she had a significant amount of cash in the house.

She had been collecting the money for her older son's funeral.

Police say the men took off with the money.

At the same time, someone fired a gun shot into the air.

No one was reported hurt.

Police aren't sure how the family knows the men.

They believe a silver or gray SUV may be involved.
