The School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL) is a public charter school that utilizes a unique and innovative approach to education, targeting high-risk students in 9th through 12th grade.

Substitute Teacher provides individualized instruction to at-risk students, using cooperative learning techniques and visual aides as necessary.

Assists in the fulfillment of the agency's vision, "For Those We Serve," by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.

Checks daily attendance records and prepares absences every morning.

Teaches multiple subjects as in a fundamental cooperative learning style.

Proposes new and innovative teaching approaches and goals as they relate to student objectives.

Administers testing as needed.

Plans a curriculum within Alternative Education School guidelines.

Completes various written reports such as report card, special progress reports, attendance records, and Disciplinary Referral Forms, etc.

Assists with the supervision of all students before, during, and after school.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and CBEST.

Valid teaching/emergency teaching credential authorizing substitute teaching.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-cultural/diverse groups, to establish a positive relationship with students, possess knowledge of different teaching methods and styles, and provide specialized instructions.

Minimum of two years experience teaching multiple subjects.

Knowledge of concepts in computers in an instructional environment and able to work with cooperative group's methods. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related programs required.

Maintain a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance as required by State law.

Successfully pass required background investigation including, DOJ and Child Abuse Index fingerprint clearance, TB clearance, and physical examination/health screening.
