Blood Test Could Rule Out Heart Attack
A simple blood test could help rule out the risk of a heart attack the next time you or a loved one goes to the emergency room.
According to Swedish researchers, the blood test, along with an electrocardiogram were 99 % accurate at telling which patients could go home and those who should stay for more tests.
Of the nine thousand patients who took the test, only 15 had a heart attack in the next month and not one of them died.
The study's lead doctor says 20 - 25 % of admissions to hospitals for chest pains can be avoided by following this simple blood test.
