Scam Alert: Merced Woman Busted Ripping Off Elderly Men, Police Say

A woman who police said scammed at least four elderly people out of money has been arrested.

Police say the investigation into 29-year-old Rosie Miller began after she posed as an employee of a doctor's office where one of the elderly male victims received treatment.

Miller then took the elderly victim to a local credit union and attempted to have them withdraw $350, police said.

The staff at the credit union called police after saying the transaction appeared suspicious and that the victim did not have the $350 in his account.

An investigation into the incident revealed that Miller had scammed other elderly men out of money.

Police say Miller totaled a car that she had a victim rent for her, leaving the elderly man responsible for the damages.

Police say there may be more victims.

Miller was arrested and booked for elder abuse and theft by false pretense.
