Riot At Pleasant Valley State Prison; 3 Inmates Hurt
COALINGA, Calif. (KMPH) —
Three inmates were hurt during a riot at Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga Tuesday morning.
Correctional officers used pepper spray to break up the fight, which involved about 30 inmates from the prison's Facility C medium-security yard, prison officials said.
After the riot, officers found three inmate-made weapons in the area.
The three injured inmates were taken to a hospital. They are expected to be okay.
No staff members were hurt in the incident.
Facility C was placed on lockdown while officials investigated.
