Pumping Iron; New Facility Paying Dividends
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) —
A new training facility at Mount Whitney High School in Visalia is having a dramatic impact on student-athletes.
The centerpiece of the $250,000 project is a state of the art weight room. The facility also includes a study hall, offices, and a small outdoor artificial turf field for agility drills.
Head football coach Marty Martin says it is one of the best facilities of its kind in California, and is producing record breaking results for his players.
Athletic Director John Perez says the facility gives all of Mount Whitney's athletes a better chance to be successful in competition.
The project was funded by donations and money from the school district.
