Poverello House Feeds The Hungry On Thanksgiving
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
More than a thousand people showed up at Fresno's Poverello House on Thursday to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
It takes lots of volunteers to serve a meal that size.
One hundred turkeys had to be cooked and carved to make this meal.
The work actually started on Monday to make this Thanksgiving dinner extra special.
"It's fabulous. We've got lots of people enjoying their meal. Lots of people really grateful for us to be here to serve them, and to hopefully make their Thanksgiving really special," said Kathryn Weakland, with the Poverello House.
The Poverello kitchen is open 365 days a year and serves 13-hundred meals daily to the poor and homeless.
