No American Flag Shirts Allowed At Northern California High School

Last year, students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill wore American flag shirts to school. That would normally not be a big deal, but they did it on Cinco de Mayo. The Northern California school made them turn the shirts inside out because officials thought things would get violent.A federal appeals court has ruled in favor of the school.Judges said the school was right to make the kids change their shirts. They ruled that concerns of racial violence outweigh students' freedom of expression.Judges also said past racial problems at the school factored into their decision.
