Mosquitoes Test Positive For West Nile

The Department of Health on Friday announced mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

So far, the virus has been reported in four California counties, including Tulare.

But, no human cases have been reported.

Last year, 479 human cases of West Nile were reported in the state, 20 of which ended in deaths.

Two of them were from Fresno County.

Health workers say it's important for people to report any problems with mosquitos and standing water to their local mosquito abatement district.
