Middle School Students From Coalinga To Lay Wreaths At National Monument

Four local middle school students on Sunday will{}get the opportunity of a lifetime trip to the nation's capitol to pay homage to those who served the country.

Darian Long, Allison Schwarz, Caleb Johansson and Aaron Ramsey, all from Coalinga Faith Christian Academy,{}will lay{}wreaths{}with the Army Third Infantry{}at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Arlington.

The students will also be given a special tour of the U.S. Capitol by Chris McGlothlin, Coalinga High School graduate currently working as an intern{}for Republican{}Congressman Devin Nunes.

The students were selected based on essays either written on what freedom means to them or why they should have been selected to lay a wreath at the national cemetery.

Local war veterans judged the letters and selected the winners.

Special permission was granted to these students by Arlington National Cemetery to lay a wreath and the wreath will bear the school's name.

The students along with other friends, classmates and family members will also visit other historic East Coast monuments.{}{}
