Memorial Fund Set Up to Remember COS Employee Killed in Accident
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
A College of the Sequoias employee killed at work last week is being remembered by the community.
37-year-old James Heuer died July 18th when he was driving a spray rig on the COS farm in Tulare and for unknown reasons, he lost control and wound up being pinned underneath the tractor.
He worked as a farm specialist for COS and was also a former student there.
Thursday, the college announced a scholarship fund has been set up for Heuer's seven-year-old son, Ethan.
And friends, family and co-workers of Heuer are invited to a remembrance ceremony Monday at the Heritage Complex at the International Agri-Center in Tulare.
A potluck will begin at noon, followed by the ceremony at 2 p.m.
The family is asking those who attend to bring photos and stories about James to be shared in a scrapbook.
