Mariposa County Fire Rages, Forces Evacuations
MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
A fire that was sparked near Yosemite National Park has forced some Mariposa County residents out of their homes.
The fire jumped the Tuolumne River and Highway 120 and grew from just a few hundred acres to more than 10,000 acres overnight.
So far, about 2,500 structures have been threatened and seven have been destroyed.
Yosemite National Park Rangers are currently assisting the Incident Command Team and Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office and will continue to assist throughout the fire.
