Man Shot During Fight At Merced County Bar
MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
A man is in the hospital after being shot at a bar in Merced County.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, Merced County sheriff's deputies were called to La Cascada Bar on the 2600 block of Santa Fe after receiving reports of shots fired.
When they arrived, deputies found out a 24-year-old man had been taken to Mercy Medical Center after being shot at the bar, sheriff's spokesman Tom MacKenzie said.
According to witnesses, two groups were involved in a fight inside the bar, and security had to intervene. The fight continued outside, and that's when several people heard gunshots, MacKenzie said.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest and a cut to his head. He was later flown to a hospital in Modesto where he had surgery. He was last listed in critical condition, MacKenzie said.
It's not known if any arrests have been made.
