Investigation into Kidnapping of a Bay Area Girl Continues

The investigation into the disappearance of a 7-year-old Bay Area girl continues after her kidnapping prompted a state-wide AMBER Alert Friday.

The girl was found several hours later and is now back with her family in Antioch, Calif.

Police say she may have been the victim of sexual assault.

She was found with her accused kidnapper just blocks from local police headquarters.

A woman spotted the suspect's vehicle and flagged down a passing car, which just happened to be an undercover officer.

Police looked through surveillance video and now believe David Douglas, 43, spotted the girl and her mother at a Wal-Mart hours before and followed them home.

They say he took the girl after pointing a rifle at her mother.

The investigation is on-going.
