Huge Drug Bust In Madera County

A traffic stop at Highway 99 and Avenue 12 in Madera County led to a huge drug bust Tuesday afternoon.A California Highway Patrol officer pulled a vehicle over around 1:30 p.m.The CHP officer is part of the Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) and was traveling with his K9 partner.Following a search of the vehicle, the K9 found 18 kilograms of packaged cocaine, 15 pounds of packaged methamphetamine, 8 pounds of heroin and almost $7,000 in cash. 39-year-old Juan Esparza and 29-year-old Raydel Gomez, both of Sacramento, were booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for felony drug possession and transportation for sales. Bail has been set for $5 million for each man.
