House To Consider Emergency Drought Relief

We got more rain Sunday.

That's good.

But it needs to keep coming.

In the meantime, help could be on the way from Washington.

The House of Representatives will consider that emergency drought relief bill Speaker John Boehner and valley republicans announced a week or so ago.

The bill would override environmental protections.

It would also stop the restoration of the San Joaquin River for the time being.

Expect a lot of back and forth on this one in the House this week.

Even if it passes, it is not expected to get through the Senate.

Senator Dianne Feinstein says she is planning to introduce her own legislation there.

She says the House bill is dangerous to the environment and undoes years of work and laws regarding the San Joaquin River restoration.
