Hope For PTSD: Erasing Bad Memories

One day scientists may be able to turn your bad memories into good ones. This sounds oddly familiar for anyone who's read the popular sci-fi trilogy, "Divergent." But this is real life, modern day research bringing hope to some of our nation's heroes.

Researchers say they found "the switch" that can reverse feelings associated with bad memories.

This was discovered during experiments on mice. They used special lasers to control the neurons in their brain.

Because humans have more complex brains, it will take much longer to figure out how the process can help people.

But researchers say the procedure could one day be used to cure post-traumatic stress disorder.
