High-Speed Chase Ends In Fiery Crash, Two Arrests

Two people were arrested Wednesday morning after leading deputies on a high-speed chase through Fresno, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said.{}

Around 3 a.m. deputies saw three men, including 31-year-old Phillip Paul Marquez and 24-year-old Adriana Nichole Trevino, both of Fresno, parked in a car near the intersection of Van Ness and Rialto in Old Fig Garden.

Deputies say when they approached the car, Marquez drove off, leading them on a chase south on Highway 41 to Highway 99 and then through Fowler before heading back to Fresno where it ended at the intersection of Argyle and Tulare

At one point, all three men jumped from the car while it was still in drive, leaving the car to roll into three parked cars and then catching fire.{}

Marquez and Trevino were quickly arrested, but the third person was never located, deputies said.

Deputies discovered several items of mail inside the car from areas throughout Fresno, including addresses in the Fig Garden area.

Marquez was arrested on charges of felony evading, reckless driving, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, forgery and a parole warrant.

Trevino was arrested on charges of resisting arrest.
