Gluten Intolerance May Not Be Celiac Disease

A new study shows people who do not have Celiac Disease may not be gluten intolerant after all.

A gastroenterology professor in Australia who's 2011 study brought to light what's called, non-Celiac gluten sensitivity, conducted another study.

He found people who said they were sensitive to gluten had gastrointestinal symptoms regardless of whether they were given a high or low gluten diet.

Researchers say the study shows gluten may not be the specific trigger of gastrointestinal problems, instead a diet high in carbohydrates called "fodmaps" may be to blame.
