Fresno Truck Crash Leads to Geyser, Outages

Drivers along Highway 41 are getting quite the surprise Monday Morning in Central Fresno.

There's a geyser!

It's actually a fire hydrant.

Firefighters say a truck crashed into the hydrant before 9:00 a.m., sending water shooting 30 feet in the air.

The truck then crashed into a power pole.

About 3,700 customers lost electricity as a result of the crash.

Firefighters said the main shut-off valve for the hydrant was paved over.

Now they'll have to shut it off in different areas.{}
