Fiscal Cliff Debate Remains Unresolved Through Christmas

Washington did not get a fiscal cliff deal for Christmas. That means president Obama and lawmakers will need to kick it into over-drive in order to get something done by new years.

After weeks of acrimony over the fiscal cliff, about the only thing both sides agree on is that Christmas may provide a cooling off period. It's likely that president Obama will board Air Force One on Wednesday and fly back to Washington from his Christmas stay in Hawaii, in desperate hopes of a deal by years end.
