Fatal Accident Closes Stretch Of Highway 41
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
Both directions of Highway 41 between Harlan and Elkhorn avenues were shut down by a fatal collision on Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
A man driving northbound in a white Chevy pickup truck, for unknown reasons, crossed over the center divide and crashed head on with a big rig around 9:14 a.m., the CHP said.
The 59-year-old driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.
Officers said the driver, a 37-year-old man from Walnut Grove, and the passenger, a 29-year-old man from Stockton, in the big rig were not badly injured in the collision.
Highway 41 from Elkhorn to Harlan avenues was closed to traffic for three hours and 45 minutes.
