D.C. Bound: Mims To Meet With President On Immigration Reform
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims will make her way to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Obama on immigration reform, the sheriff's office announced.
The meeting between Mims and Obama will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Following the White House meeting, Mims will participate in a series of discussions on Wednesday with the Bible, Badges and Business coalition that has been working several months to encourage immigration reform, the sheriff's office said.
"I am pleased to be included in the President's discussion on immigration reform, a critical issue for law enforcement in Fresno County," Mims said in a news release.
Mims said she will tweet her visit to the nation's capitol in real time.
