Copper Wire Theft Arrest In Fresno

A 23-year-old man is now facing charges after Fresno police say someone saw him stealing copper wire.

It happened Tuesday night in the area of Carruth and Olive.

Police say someone driving by saw a man scaling some poles in an alley.

When officers got there they say they saw ripped wiring and found Scott Holland with a bundle of copper wire.

Police say he confessed to stealing the wire.

He was arrested for felony vandalism.

Police say there have been a lot more copper wire thefts in the last few years in Fresno.

They say it has caused street lights to go out and they're now asking for your help.
