Cooler Temperatures Helping Crews Fight French Fire
Sierra National Forest —
Cooler temperatures are helping firefighters get a better handle on the large fire burning near Mammoth Pool Reservoir.
Firefighters say the French Fire is now 30% contained.
So far it's burned more than 13,000 acres near the Rock Creek Campground.
Over the weekend, officials said an unattended campfire is believed to have started all of this.
Right now campfires are restricted in the Sierra National Forest.
Anyone with information on who may be responsible is asked to call the U.S. Forest Service.
