Congressman Devin Nunes Talks About The Drought On Great Day

Valley Congressman Devin Nunes visited Great Day to talk about the California drought.House Speaker John Boehner was in the Central Valley addressing the water crisis on Wednesday. Speaker Boehner is working Nunes and other members of Congress on a 3-part emergency drought relief bill to help Valley farmers. The bill would divert water meant to restore the San Joaquin River to bring back the salmon, but as Nunes pointed out on Great Day, "These are fish that don't exist; they haven't existed for a century."Nunes says if nothing changes, the water behind Friant Dam will be flushed out to the ocean.

The plan announced on Wednesday asks for the pumps in the San Joaquin Delta to be turned on when there's rain and allow the water behind Friant Dam to be used rather than dumping it for "phantom" salmon.
