Chase Ends in Crash; Three Arrests Made in North Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
A man wanted for a shooting is now in custody after Fresno Police say he led them on a chase, which ended in a crash.
Officers tried to pull over 20-year-old Jack Henderson for a traffic offense, in the area of Cedar and Butler Sunday afternoon.
Instead, they say Henderson sped off in a red Dodge Caravan.
Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez says officers followed the van a short distance, then backed away so a helicopter could take over.
"Fortunately in Fresno we have a lot of helicopters up at all hours," Gomez said. "We had the Sheriff's helicopter up at this time, so we can monitor the movement of a car until it stops, then we can set up a perimeter and catch them like we did here."
Officers on the ground caught up with Henderson on Fresno Street, north of Shaw.
They tried to pull him over again.
Instead, he pulled into the Butterfly Grove Apartment Complex.
An officer following him hit a stone wall. The officer was not hurt.
Henderson and two others scattered after the minivan hit some bushes in the complex.
Officers arrested them a short time later.
One of the men, 21-year-old Darryl Wooley, was in violation of his probation.
A teenager who was with the men, was also in violation of his probation.
