Caught On Camera: A Cell Phone Stops Crooks
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
A Fresno woman says a high-tech tool stopped a gang of thieves from stealing her possessions.
The woman was alerted by a picture taken of the burglary as it was in progress. A motion-detecting camera that is connected to the woman's smart phone snapped a picture of the would-be thieves. That's when the woman, who would only identify herself as Mary to KMPH, called the police.
"I was shaking, I was scared, I didn't know what to do and there was someone else with me and told me to call," Mary said.
Police were able to find the crooks inside of her home and make the arrests.
Police say devices like Mary's motion camera help protect homes and can often provide officers with detailed pictures even if the crooks get away.
