Cardinals Bring Summer Baseball to Fresno

Most college kids are laying by the pool or working a boring summer job this time of year, but not the ones who make up the roster of the Fresno Cardinals. The Fresno Cardinals is a college baseball team that plays in the Far West's summer league. It's a squad made up of almost all Valley natives. They grew up here. They went to high school here. And most of them go to college here.{}They're almost on a pro-like schedule with five or six games a week. They're led by their Head Coach, Valley native, and former Bulldog and pro ball player, Ken Crew. One of the biggest differences between amateur ball and pro ball is the bat. This league uses the real lumber, just like the pros.{}Their next games are on Thursday and Friday at FCC's Euless park. First pitch scheduled for 7:00pm.
