Shots Fired At Fresno City College

Fresno City College police continue to search for four men armed with guns, last seen running from the college.

Police say just after 11 Monday morning in parking lot E, a gun battle took place.

Witnesses say after the shooting, the gunmen ran south of the campus into the neighborhood.

Investigators say the men in their late and early twenties were involved in an argument that turned into a shooting.

Several bullets shattered car windows, went through fences, and into the campus greenhouse, but thankfully, no one was hurt.

Student Vicente Chavez says two of the guys being shot at ran right past him.

Chavez says, "I just saw two males running around the corner and I just heard the gun shots, boom, boom, boom, and I just ran into the building as soon as I heard it."

Student Edward Cruz says, "It's kind of weird that there was a shooting on our campus, and there was no lock down."

Some students were critical, asking why the college was not put on lock down, like the elementary school and Fresno High south of the campus.

Campus police say the threat was over before they even had the chance to do that.

Chief Bruce Hartman says, "Immediately, as it came out I was over here and another car. Witnesses say anyone involved was headed south off the property completely."
